Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information FindDecisions collects when you visit, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We’ve kept the legalese to a minimum.
This policy applies to FindDecisions (the “Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and covers information gathered through our website. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information: what you choose to give us, and what’s gathered automatically as you browse.
Information you provide
- Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Any details you include when you contact us or suggest a comparison (such as your name and message).
Information collected automatically
- Standard log data your browser sends IP address, browser type, device, and operating system.
- How you use the Site — pages visited, time on page, referring links, and similar analytics data.
- Information stored in cookies and similar technologies (see below).
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run, maintain, and improve the Site and its content.
- Send our newsletter to people who ask for it, and respond to your messages.
- Understand which comparisons readers find useful, so we can publish more of what helps.
- Display relevant advertising and measure its performance.
- Keep the Site secure and detect misuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies & tracking technologies
Like most websites, we use cookies, small text files stored on your device to make the Site work, remember your preferences, understand traffic, and support advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you turn them off.
Your control: Most browsers let you block or clear cookies at any time. You can also manage ad personalization through the third-party tools linked in the next section.
4. Analytics partners
We work with trusted third parties to run analytics. These partners may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. It collects information such as pages viewed and time spent, in aggregate. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
For more on how Google handles data, see Google’s Privacy & Terms.
5. Affiliate links
Some links on the Site are affiliate links, including those in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click one and make a purchase, the retailer may set a cookie that lets them credit the referral to us, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These cookies are governed by the retailer’s own privacy policy. For full details on how this works, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
6. How we share information
We don’t sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited cases:
- With service providers who help us operate the Site (such as email, hosting, and analytics tools), under their own privacy obligations.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, with notice where required.
7. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
- If you’re in the EU/UK (GDPR): you can request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data, and withdraw consent at any time.
- If you’re in California (CCPA/CPRA): you can request details of the personal information we hold, ask us to delete it, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your data.
To exercise any of these rights, just email us using the address below. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
8. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. Security & data retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by law for example, we retain your newsletter email until you unsubscribe.
10. Changes to this policy & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top, and significant changes may be highlighted on the Site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
